Saving for a trip: When should you book?

The sooner, the better!

It's true, booking your vacation sooner rather than later is always a great choice. Enjoy a variety of options related to accommodations, secured pricing, and a built-in savings plan to help you pay for your vacation in advance.

All the options

Whether it is your first family trip to Walt Disney World, mom and dad's all-inclusive anniversary beach trip, or the cruise you have been dreaming about, booking early will give you the most options. Specific room categories and resorts can fill up quickly so securing these early ensures you not only get the place you want (resort, cruise ship, etc....), but the room category you want (ocean view, park view, pool view, verandah, standard, etc...) as well.

Deposit Structure

While deposits may vary, many deposits are low and allow for modifications if needed. For example, if you are booking a package with Walt Disney World, your package would include your resort stay and tickets for park entry and the deposit would only be $200. Currently, you can book an all-inclusive resort room or even a cruise for yourself or the whole family with just a deposit. In many cases, you can book your vacation a year or sometimes more in advance allowing you time to prepare for your final payments at 90, 60, or occasionally only 30 days out from travel. You should always read the fine print and consult with your travel advisor, but many deposits are fully refundable if cancelled before final payment.

Modifications & Promotions/Deals

This is another example of how a travel consultant can save you a lot of time and help you get exactly what you are looking for. If Disney or another supplier offers a promotion that applies to your travel dates, your travel consultant can review the promotion for savings and/or benefits, notify you, and modify or rebook your reservation ensuring you get exactly what you are looking for. While you can attempt to watch for promotions yourself, a travel consultant can not only do this for you but may also get notified in advance that a promotion is coming again, saving you time and helping to ensure you get exactly what you are looking for at the best price.
