Disney World: When is the best time to take your kids?

When is the best time to take your kids to Disney world? Now-- seriously, now is a great time. Will they be able to ride more riders if they are taller? Yes. Will they ooh and ah and smile from ear to ear when they see their beloved characters if they are younger? Yes, likely so. Will your family enjoy a vacation to Walt Disney World at any age? Absolutely!

Accommodations for young families

Disney has truly thought of everything. You can rent a stroller directly at each park and then you don't have to drag it onto the transportation each day and night. Concerned you'll need the stroller at your resort? Rent a stroller from a local provider and keep it with you for your stay. Can you bring your own from home, sure you can! Of course you will find plenty of options for changing stations in most restrooms, but Disney also has Baby Care Centers within all four parks offering a comfortable place to change, feed, or nurse your little one.

Height Restrictions for Rides

Are you concerned about rides because some family members are tall enough and others are not? No problem, Disney has the Rider Switch program to support families in this situation. My 5 year old and husband rode SOARIN while I waited with our 2 year old. As soon as my husband got off the ride he handed me the Rider Switch card and my 5 year old was able to ride again with me. The card allowed us to bypass the line and go almost to the front of the line. You will also find several options for family friendly rides and play spaces throughout the parks.

My kids are tweens, teens, and young adults

Yes, older kids will have a magical time at Disney World! Walt Disney World is packed with thrill rides, family rides, and unique thematic rides that are designed to capture the whole family. Each park is magically designed to have something for everyone. A quick survey of different age groups gives you an idea of what different age groups love about the different parks. My eight year old daughter finally agreed to rank the parks after insisting I share that she loves them all (ha)! She says Hollywood Studios is her favorite followed by Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and then Animal Kingdom. When I asked her what she loves most about Hollywood Studios she shared, "all the Star Wars stuff". My husband initially stated this ranking was hard because he likes different things about each park, but he ultimately landed on the same rankings as my daughter. We have been fortunate enough to travel to Walt Disney World with our good friends and their kids, so I asked for their rankings as well. The eleven year old landed on Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and then Animal Kingdom. He shared Magic Kingdom feels like the movies, Hollywood Studios for the rides, Epcot for the countries, and Pandora in Animal Kingdom, but he's sure it will be Everest when he decides to conquer that mountain! The fifteen year old ranks Magic Kingdom as her number one with Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom to follow. While this is a difficult task for me, I would say my rankings would be Magic Kingdom for nostalgia- I mean the castle, seven dwarfs mine train, and Main street! Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom would round out my list.

Walking down Main Street with your friends.

Whenever you decide to go to Walt Disney World it will be the perfect time, so why not plan the trip now!

Cheers,
